Who has experience in finding car 'erasers' in the parking lot?

Basically, many people know that my 307 is constantly getting dented by people in the parking lot. Once, on New Year's, someone even threw a champagne bottle out the window, breaking the rear window and denting the fender.
I'm okay with minor dents; not everyone knows how to park. The last time they tore my fender down to the metal and dented it, that was even more tragic.
Yesterday, returning from vacation, my wife and I saw that our normally parked car had not only been rubbed, but (1) the taillight had been broken, (2) the fender had been dented, and to top it all off, the passenger side mirror had been dislocated for some reason.
I can understand that the driver doesn't know how to park, but I can't forgive vandalism. Actually, the question is, as a rule, should we look for the culprit based on the damage, and is there any way to prove their guilt (I don't want to swear or take the law into my own hands; let them just pay for the repairs legally)? If that's not possible, then there's no point in looking.
We have cameras at home, but over a week and a half of vacation, they won't help us find the vandal. There are only two traces of paint from the culprit, and they are very faint (see photo).
