
Questions about DSG box firmware periodically arise — what, how, and what result.
I would like to describe in a bit more detail how this happens.
First of all, we rolled out all the firmware on our own cars, despite the fact that everything had already been tested in Europe. And this allowed us to create exactly what we wanted in terms of tuning.
Tuning DQ200 — the custom was done with the help of Andrey DotG
Tuning DQ250 — the custom was done almost entirely with the help of Ruslan Crazyik
Tuning DQ500 — my personal car, Scirocco AWD DQ500
Secondly, every customer feedback, good or bad, receives a response — and usually this leads to another improvement in the software. This means that if we see a place for improvement in the program with the customer — the change is made almost immediately.
Here’s what can be done with the box (main typical modifications in our firmware):
— Individual shift points in both Drive and Sport
— Faster gear shifting
— Individual launch control settings
— Our firmware does not "drop" gears when starting from a launch )))
— Shift of rev limiter
— S-mode always holds maximum torque during active driving
— There can be a "hard" S for the track, which always works only in a specified rpm range
— Disabling kick-down mode / disabling upshift
— Disabling torque limit
— Longer first gear (to eliminate vibrations in 2nd gear in traffic jams)
— On particularly powerful setups, it is possible to increase pressure on the clutch discs
And, of course, everything is very custom :)
p.s. In the near future, the installation of firmware with adjustable launch control is also planned — when you set the launch rpm yourself before the start, without changing the firmware; this option is extremely useful for starting on difficult surfaces, when grip is not maximum; for underpowered drives on any surface — must have )))
